Community West is a multi-program agency servicing Melbourne's western suburbs.
Situated in a significant growth corridor, Community West has grown from a small residents' action group to a large community-based organisation. Community West is committed to the communities of Melbourne's western region and provides an integrated service to families and individuals.
Our services are pivotal to building social capital in Melbourne's Western Suburbs.

The Australian Human Rights Commission has launched an important campaign titled, ‘Racism. It Stops With Me’, which is an initiative of the National Anti-Racism Strategy.

It is an unfortunate reality that too many Australians experience racism, prejudice and discrimination on a regular basis. The campaign aims to:

1)      Ensure more Australians recognise that racism is unacceptable in our community;

2)      Give more Australians the tools and resources to take practical action against racism; and

3)      Empower individuals and organisations to prevent and respond effectively to racism.

Community West is supporting the ‘Racism. It Stops With Me’ campaign to take a public stance against racism in our community. Over the coming months, Community West will be promoting the message and objectives of the campaign and will encourage all staff and community members to play a role in preventing racism.

We can counter racism through the actions we take collectively at Community West, but also through our actions as individuals.  It is important that we all take responsibility for bringing an end to racism, wherever we might be, so that together we can grow and celebrate the diversity of our communities.
